PRIZES

THE ROUX SCHOLARSHIP 2010

The winner receives an invitation to cook and train under the supervision of a leading chef at a prestigious 3-star Michelin restaurant in Europe for up to three months*. This is courtesy of the Savoy Educational Trust. Accommodation expenses will be fully paid by the Trust, in addition to an allowance of £75 per week for the duration of the training. In addition the winner receives a cheque for £5,000.

In addition the Roux Scholar will receive:

A week’s work experience in New York (with flights and accommodation provided) courtesy of Restaurant Associates organised by the Restaurant Associates executive chef
A Jeroboam of Gosset Grande Réserve, signed by all the judges
An expenses paid trip* (including travel and overnight accommodation to the value of £400) to visit the wine cellars of Gosset at Epernay for a guided tour of the production process, courtesy of Champagne Gosset
A trip for two to visit the Caffé Musetti roasting factory with a night's accommodation in Milan, courtesy of L’Unico
A free subscription to Caterer & Hotelkeeper for one year
A set of Global Knives to the value of £1,000
A five-piece engraved set from All-Clad

The Winner’s Establishment

Will receive a coffee machine and coffee worth £2,000 from L’Unico (Caffé Musetti)

NATIONAL FINALISTS

The remaining five national finalists will receive £1,000 bursary from the Savoy Educational Trust, to be used towards furthering their career development.

All national finalists will receive:

An engraved 2 qt saucier from All-Clad
Two personalised, commemorative, chef's jackets, courtesy of Bragard
 Bottle of Champagne Gosset Grande Reserve.
A one-day course at the Fairfax Meadow Butchery School
One year’s complimentary membership of The Institute of Hospitality
Registration, free of charge, with the Hospitality Learning Network, courtesy of Hospitality & Leisure Manpower.  They will also be given access to a free management study unit under the Ecarus Scheme, courtesy of the European Catering Association International.

7 piece set of Global Knives worth £250

A signed copy of "A Life in the Kitchen" by Michel Roux Jnr - just published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson

 

REGIONAL FINALISTS

All regional finalists will receive:

A voucher from Russums to the value of £100 to be used for equipment or books, courtesy of the Savoy Educational Trust

A commemorative certificate

A Global GS Series knife worth £50
A Moka pot and coffee from L’Unico (Caffé Musetti)

 

*    All training must be completed by the end of March 2011
