Virgin Atlantic are very proud to be the official airline of the Roux Scholarship. With our commitment to supporting the next generation of chefs, we're ensuring our passengers continue to enjoy some of the finest, most innovative food in the sky.
This year, we've embarked on a £100 million project to enhance our products and services, with a special focus on the food we serve. By working with the world's top catering companies, not only have we been able to improve our food, but we're now using a far more sustainable selection of locally sourced, seasonal ingredients to create our menus.
Our new brasserie style meals feel much more like something you'd enjoy on the ground, plus we've added some very special touches of Virgin Atlantic theatricality to brighten up the cabin. In Upper Class, our classic British afternoon tea is now served from our tea trolley, with individual mini cake stands for every customer. In Economy, while they're watching a movie, passengers will enjoy a visit from our Cabin Crew with their stylish new usherette trays packed full of ice creams or other goodies.
2012 also saw the opening of our new New York JFK International Airport Clubhouse. Our award winning Clubhouses have always been a great way to relax preflight, and New York is no exception. Our sit down brasserie serves a delicious fusion of NYLON cuisine, and the elegant Uptown cocktail bar with resident mixologists serves up fantastic concoctions inspired by the city.
And that's not all, our brand new A330 aircraft not only boast the latest incarnation of our award winning Upper Class Suite, but we've also completely reinvented our onboard bar. It's now the longest in the sky, and it has plenty of great new spaces to sit, perch and socialise.
