Read the Roux Scholars’ Sweden journal

We’re delighted to share the Sweden journal created following the Roux Scholars’ trip to Sweden in October 2023.

Inside you’ll find reports on the various places written by each of the 10 Roux Scholars who attended the trip, along with Alain Roux, which saw them eat in the country’s best restaurants, and visit the Stockholm and Malmö’s best breweries, as well as orchards and vineyards.

With photographs by The Roux Scholarship’s official photographer Jodi Hinds, page design by Lounge Design and editing by the Scholarship’s Communications Manager Carolyn Boyd, we hope it will be treasured as much as the memories of the trip.

Its introduction was written by Alain Roux, in which he says how much the trip meant to him: “From Dubai to Tokyo, New York to the Black Forest, each Scholarship trip has been special, but this one was exceptional. The first without my dad and Andrew Fairlie, the first since 2016 to California, and the first since the pandemic. With plans having been scrapped twice, I felt a sense of triumph and emotion as I set forth on our whirlwind Swedish culinary tour.”
